Plain-English Summary
TradeStreak is an educational app. It is not a broker, it is not an investment adviser, and nothing it shows you is personalized financial advice. The paper-trading balances are fake money. The scenario outcomes are historical what-ifs with educational feedback. The AI mentor is a teaching tool, not a professional. Don't make real investment decisions based on anything in this app without first talking to a licensed financial advisor you've personally vetted.
1. What TradeStreak Is
TradeStreak is a consumer educational product that helps users learn the fundamentals of investing, markets, and personal finance through:
- Lessons and quizzes — structured content about investing concepts;
- Historical scenarios — branching decision exercises built around real historical events (market crashes, earnings surprises, Fed moves), with hypothetical outcomes and educational feedback;
- Paper trading — a simulated portfolio that uses real-time market data so you can practice the mechanics of placing trades without any real money at risk;
- AI-generated mentor commentary — explanations of concepts, summaries of news, and feedback on your quiz and scenario performance;
- Optional read-only brokerage linking — view your actual broker holdings inside the app alongside educational content. TradeStreak cannot place trades for you.
2. What TradeStreak Is NOT
TradeStreak is not:
- A broker-dealer or brokerage service. We do not hold client funds or securities.
- A registered investment adviser (RIA) under the U.S. Investment Advisers Act of 1940, state advisory laws, or equivalent laws outside the U.S.
- A commodity trading advisor, introducing broker, or futures commission merchant.
- A bank, money-services business, or payment processor (subscription payments are processed by Apple).
- A tax adviser, CPA, attorney, or provider of any other regulated professional service.
We do not hold any financial license in any jurisdiction. No one at TradeStreak is acting as your fiduciary.
3. No Personalized Advice, No Recommendation, No Solicitation
Nothing the Service displays constitutes personalized financial, investment, legal, tax, accounting, or insurance advice.
Specifically, the following are not recommendations to buy, sell, hold, or transact in any security, cryptocurrency, derivative, or other financial instrument:
- Lesson content and examples;
- Scenario choices and outcomes, including "optimal path" indicators;
- AI mentor commentary or chat responses;
- The "Today's Market Briefing" daily news lesson;
- Roast feedback at the end of a scenario;
- Community voting percentages ("72% of users picked this choice");
- Leaderboards, achievements, or league placements based on simulated trading;
- Performance analytics, sector breakdowns, dividend projections, or portfolio-metric cards displayed for your linked brokerage account;
- Stock profile pages, news headlines, short-interest data, or technical indicators.
We do not know your full financial picture, risk tolerance, time horizon, liquidity needs, tax situation, or investment objectives. Only you — ideally in consultation with a licensed professional — can determine whether any particular investment decision is right for you.
4. Simulated Trading Uses Fake Money
The paper-trading feature and every scenario simulation use virtual currency with no monetary value. You cannot deposit, withdraw, redeem, or transfer simulated balances. Performance in the simulator:
- Does not reflect the returns you would have achieved in real markets;
- Ignores real-world frictions such as slippage, liquidity constraints, margin calls, order rejection, and tax consequences;
- May use delayed, incomplete, or corrected market data;
- Provides no guarantee — expressed or implied — about your ability to achieve similar results in real markets.
Past performance of any strategy, simulated or real, is not indicative of future results.
5. Market Data Is Not Trading-Grade
Quotes, fundamentals, charts, news, analyst ratings, earnings calendars, and similar data come from third-party providers. Data may be delayed (often 15 minutes), stale, incorrect, incomplete, or subject to corporate-action errors. Never rely on data displayed in TradeStreak for real-money decisions — always verify through your own broker's trading screen immediately before placing an order.
6. Historical Scenarios Are Educational Recreations
Our scenario feature presents historical market events (e.g., the 1929 crash, 2008 financial crisis, the 2020 COVID drawdown) and lets you make hypothetical decisions. The financial outcome shown for each decision path is a simplified model designed for teaching, not a backtest of a viable strategy. It does not account for position sizing relative to real portfolio value, transaction costs, margin, taxes, emotional constraints on actual human traders during those events, or regulatory conditions specific to the era.
7. AI-Generated Content
Several features use large language models (currently Anthropic's Claude) to generate natural-language explanations. AI-generated content:
- May contain errors, fabrications ("hallucinations"), or outdated information;
- Is not verified by a human financial professional before it is shown to you;
- Should never be treated as personalized advice;
- Should always be cross-checked against authoritative sources (your broker, the SEC's EDGAR system, the company's IR page, or a licensed professional) before being acted on.
8. Gamification Is a Teaching Tool
Experience points, streaks, achievements, leagues, and other gamified mechanics are designed to encourage learning consistency. They are not indicators of trading skill, expected returns, or financial outcomes. A high XP total reflects time spent learning; it does not reflect your ability to generate investment returns.
9. User Responsibility
You are solely responsible for:
- Any real-money investment, trading, or financial decision you make;
- Verifying the accuracy of data before acting on it;
- Complying with all laws and regulations that apply to you (including securities, tax, and employer policies on personal trading);
- Consulting a licensed financial advisor, CPA, or attorney for advice specific to your situation.
Before making any real investment, we strongly encourage you to:
- Read the prospectus, offering memorandum, or similar disclosure of any investment you're considering;
- Understand the fees, risks, and tax consequences;
- Verify the licensing of any professional you consult via the SEC's Investment Adviser Public Disclosure (IAPD) tool, FINRA BrokerCheck, your state securities regulator, or the equivalent in your country;
- Never invest more than you can afford to lose.
10. No Guarantee of Results
Nothing in the Service guarantees any particular outcome — educational, financial, or otherwise. Your learning depends on your own effort. Your investment results depend on factors far outside any app's control. TradeStreak accepts no liability for decisions you make based on or influenced by the Service.
11. Persistent In-App Notice
A compact version of this disclaimer ("Educational only — not financial advice") is shown in the app at onboarding, on the Trade tab's Brokers screen, next to simulated performance numbers, and at the end of every scenario. By using the Service you acknowledge you have seen and understood it.
